SOYBEAN TRANSACTIONS & UPDATES The signals displayed on this page are actual signals throughout the designated contracts. We are currently working in the July and November 2004 contracts. BUY & SELL SIGNAL information on this page is current as indicated by the "Most Recent" signals. Quite often, UPDATED COMMENTS are posted on this page to instruct subscribers to be closely watching this page for a potential signal thought to be near. On-line updates usually made by 9:00 PM Central time. This page highlights the most recent SoyTech signals.
Please note when we give a signal: We are pleased to help so many of you personally as you have requested. But please consider also, that you might consult with your commodity broker about the timing-of-action to each "market on open" signal that we may give you from SoyTech. Some brokers are very good at picking the best "time" of the day (for example 10:15 am or 12:45 pm, etc.) to execute rather than exactly on the opening call. We say "on the open" so it gets done. Over the years we have found that the opening call is the safest and most sure - especially for procrastinators (you know who you are!) But quite often, the best time of action comes later in the day. The most recent SoyTech signal: The market remains very volatile and undoubtedly will for some time. The biggest question through our feedback form is "Are you seeing any signals to sell?" As of now, in the July contract, we are not. Quite unusual except in a bull market. Indicators set up in last Nov. told us that soybeans should touch nine dollars this year. We still think that can happen eventually. However, farmers should keep to their sales plan. In times where there is no signal, you use the "time frame" of your sales plan to make scale up selling. If we see a sell signal, it will be posted here. We would also expect it to be short term. Note to farmers - If you need to make sales, anyway you look at it, the current prices are good. You should keep to your sales plan and remember that a high-average price is the goal, not to pick the top in the marketing year. 1-15-04 Today's close gives us a "sell" signal in the July contract for the 16th. This could be a good time to catch up on any sales that need to be done. 1-21-04 Today's close gives us another "sell" signal in the July contract for the 22nd. This one will perhaps also be short term. However, if you need to make a sale, this could be a good opportunity. 1-28-04 Today's close gave us a "buy" signal in the July contract for the 29th. Take caution as there could easily be more follow through to the downside before going back up. Look to the options if placing positions. Consult your broker on timing. 2-2-04 Today's close gave us another "buy" signal in the July contract. Here again, we should take caution on any actions. There are several fundamentals taking center stage. Consult your broker on timing and strategy here. Use options or cover with stop-losses. 2-4-04 Traders should take caution here. A sell indicator has shown up today. Perhaps profit taking should be considered from yesterday's action or catch up on any sales? Hopefully we are premature with our worries on this indicator. It is not a normal "sell" signal but rather an indicator of caution during a volatile period. Some indicators remind us to keep positions protected in one form or another. 2-20-04 Good Morning. The market could very well soon reach the nine dollar mark - maybe even today. That level would meet the objective that the SoyTech system revealed to us last November and reaffirmed itself again in January. What it tells us is that when the near-by soybean contract hits the nine dollar mark on the C.B.O.T., farmers should sell their soybeans held in storage. This is not to say that the market can't or won't go higher, it only says that historical data told the SoyTech system that it would come to this level. (Many believe the market can and will go much higher, you've probably heard it all.) Even if it does go higher, this would complete a farmers 2003 crop sales at an excellent price level. We will continue to watch for the next "sell" signal to begin selling the 2004 crop. This is only our opinion. 2-23-04 Good Morning. Well, it didn't happen Friday, but the soybean market definitely hit our objective of nine dollars this morning. The SoyTech system revealed to us last November and reaffirmed itself again in January that it would. While the system doesn't give us an official "sell" signal here, it is however a "point-of-sale" that we have been watching for. Safe marketing takes some profits here. But it looks like the market can continue up. Many of you have indicated you want to hold on to some inventory for a while longer to see what develops. From here we will watch the system work as always. We will alert you to the next normal "sell" signal where you should want to take further profits of any held inventory of the 2003 crop as well as begin forward sales of the 2004 crop. 3-1-04 The system has given us a cautionary sell indicator. We could possibly soon see a correction in the market. Remember to keep positions protected. 3-5-04 Today's close gives us a "sell" signal in the July contract for the 8th. Take caution here. See "Current Contract Table" for more details. 3-8-04 Today's close gave us still another "sell" signal in the July contract for the next trading day. Well, the market went through the ten dollar mark (Mar 18) on the CBOT. It's anyone's guess where the top of the market will be this year. We will continue to watch for the next sell signal in the SoyTech system. Remember to keep up with your sales plan as we continue on. (Click here for more comments) 3-22-04 Today's close has given a "sell" signal in the July contract for the next trading session. Maybe this is just a time for a correction? Perhaps a time for catch up sales in your sales plan. Or perhaps to take advantage of $10+ for some beans in storage. 3-23-04 Today's close has given us yet another "sell" signal in the July contract for the next trading day. 3-25-04 Today's close has given us still another "sell" signal in the July contract for the next trading day. Third one this week. 3-26-04 Today's close has given us a "buy" signal in the July contract for the next trading session. Take caution. Fundamentals usually rule in markets at these levels. 3-29-04 Today's close has given us a "sell" signal in the July contract for the next trading session. See "Current Contract Table" for more details. 4-8-04 Thursday's close has given us a "buy" indicator in the July contract for the next trading day (4-12-04). Take caution as there could easily be more follow through to the downside (especially if the May sees a close below the 9.76 level). Stay protected.
The system has given us a "sell" signal for sometime today 5-5-04. We could see some correction. Take caution here. The 5-20-04 close has flashed a "buy" indicator. This comes early in the cycle count. Take caution with protection or stand aside for now. Even with a sell signal at the close of 7-1-04, we are out of the July contract completely. We are taking no further action in the July. It is too risky. We are are now concentrating on the August and November contracts as we have for some time already. Due to time involved, we will not be posting signals for now in any of the contracts. For those of you who have followed along and still need any specific help or information on marketing your 2003/2004 crops, please contact us through the feedback form. |
